- D.A. (Dave) Stell, 64, Spanish-American war veteran and for many years one of the leading merchants of Murfreesboro and of this place (Delight), died in the veterans hospital in Hot Springs Sunday night (May 29, 1938) as a result of a heart ailment. He owned and operated the D.A. Stell Cash Store at Murfreesboro for more than 20 years and also operated a store at this place for a number of years. He retired from business last March because of ill health. He was a life-long resident of Pike county, having been born and reared at Stelltown, near here. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Paul of New York City and David Stell of Murfreesboro; three daughter, Mrs. Floyd Hendrix, Mrs. C.R. Huddlesont and Mrs. Denvil Wingfield all of Murfreesboro, and three bothers, R.W. of Delight, Tom of Redland, California and Charlie of Lubbock, Tex. Funeral Services were held at Murfreesboro Tuesday morning and burial was in the Murfreesboro cemetery.
